Teeth Cleaning

Routine dental cleanings should be performed every 6 months to keep the teeth free of tartar and decay

The initial dental examination will typically include an oral cancer screening, necessary X-rays and a thorough visual examination to diagnose any hard and soft tissue irregularities. Once the new patient examination is complete, and assuming there are no serious underlying issues, an oral prophylaxis or general teeth cleaning is performed.

Routine dental cleanings should be performed every 6 months to keep the teeth free of tartar and decay. During a cleaning, tartar and plaque are removed from the teeth (both above and below the gum line). Even with thorough brushing and flossing, tartar and plaque can form in areas that are hidden from the reach of conventional cleaning methods. That is why a professional teeth cleaning is important for the overall health of the teeth and gums.
